- Introduction -

StrongED is a programmer's text editor for RISC OS. Although StrongED is a very fully-featured and powerful editor, it is also surprisingly easy to use. StrongED can be used to edit anything from program sources to shopping lists, emails and web pages.

Among its many features are: Configurable syntax highlighting, folding, soft- and hardwrapping, undo and redo, auto and smart indentation.

It was written over a considerable period of time by Guttorm Vik, who stopped developing it around mid 1999. His final release included the BASIC assembler source. It was then picked up by John Whitington and Carl Hetherington. Currently it is maintained by Fred Graute.

Contributions to any part of StrongED are welcome.
